The Irresistible Force of Love

irresistible-forceThe Irresistible Force

There is a force at work in the world today that is more powerful than money, position, political power, big business, intelligence, education, labor unions, influence, military weaponry, religion, world empires, or even the press.  It is a power that eventually topples each of those false strongholds.  Yet, it is something that goes on in the background, noticed, appreciated, desired, but not often publicly acknowledged.  It is a force that has caused patriots to stand, armies to march, poets to write, musicians to sing, and martyrs to die.  This force awakens mothers early in the morning and causes dads to labor to exhaustion.   In fact it will motivate people to work much harder than money can buy or unions will allow.  And yet this force is available for all to use and although it is free to use, it does come at a cost and yet is is without price at the same time.

The Irresistible Force in Culture

The Irresistible Force is well known, but greatly misunderstood.  It is a popular theme in modern culture.  It is lauded in songs like, “all you need is love,” “she loves you yeah yeah yeah,” “love will keep us together,” “I’m hooked on a feeling,” and more.  Love is the force that attracts others to us, transforms us from the inside out, creates true positive change in the world, and sometimes makes us do crazy things.

Love is the Irresistible Force.

John, who is often called the Apostle of Love because he wrote of the irresistible force of love, said, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.” (1 John 4:7-9).  When we love God we are transformed to being more like Him in our character.  When we love others, we can have a profound effect upon them and our world.

Be guided by love.

Hey, it is Valentines and it is the time of year we think of love and sending and receiving Valentines.  So, let’s keep in mind that God loves us and calls us to loves others in the same way.  Be guided by love.  How do we do that?  Listen to your words, before you say them and use the “love filter.”  Pass your thoughts through the “love filter.”  Force your attitudes to pass through the “love filter.”  Make sure your actions, even towards your enemies (Jesus said to love your enemies, and He did.) to pass through the “love filter.”  Pass your excuses through the “love filter.”  Let the way your serve in your church ministry pass through the “love filter.”  Let that irresistible force become the center of your life.  Soon, you will be irresistible, too.

You Can Be Irresistible!

Happy Valentines!
